If you having issues with the client then the easiest fix would be to make sure that your java is up to date. You can do this by downloading the latest update here, http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk-7u1-download-513651.html and picking your operating system from the list there. Install and launch the client, Enjoy.
